π Getting ready for the stratosphere with MySat Strato!
Weβre reviewing a latex weather balloon for our upcoming platform launch π°οΈ
For this mission, weβre using a 1 kg balloon from Kaymont. On the ground, its diameter is about 1.5 meters, but as it ascends into the stratosphere, it expands to nearly 8 meters!
At an altitude of around 34 km, the balloon will burst due to internal pressure – which is a completely normal phase of the flight. At that point, atmospheric pressure is only about ~1% of sea level π
These conditions allow us to test MySat Strato in an environment close to space.
π MySat Strato is the next step for the MySat community – an opportunity to launch your MySat to near space, into the stratosphere above 30 km!
Weβll share more details about the project next month π
π Reminder: everyone who purchases a MySat STEM kit this month will receive a unique keychain dedicated to the successful Artemis II mission
